Terms and Conditions

By signing up to a course with The Therapeutic Midwife you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

Payment

A non-refundable deposit of £50 may be required to confirm your place on your chosen course and will be highlighted to you if necessary either in person/email or via the website at booking.

The total balance of the course fee must be paid in full 24 hours prior to the first session of the course. Course fees are non-refundable except under exceptional circumstances.

Payment is made for a full course as advertised and not for individual sessions.

Flexible payment terms must be agreed in advance.

Cancellations

We reserve the right to cancel, change or alter the dates/venues of any course. Attempts will be made to avoid any disruption this may cause. If you are unable to attend due to a change of date or location over 5 miles from original location and you are unable to attend you will be offered an alternative or a refund. In the unlikely event of cancellation of a course by myself, attempts will be made to reschedule. If this is not possible, or alternative dates cannot be agreed, a full refund of the total fee will be given.

If your baby is born prior to the start of your course a full refund will be given if the course was due to start prior to the 37th week of your pregnancy. If you cancel a booking due to a medical reason within 2 weeks of the start of your course a refund will be given for the course total minus a £50 deposit. If you decide to cancel your booking within 2 weeks of the course start for any other reason a refund (Minus £50 deposit) will be at The Therapeutic Midwife discretion.

In the event of cancellation by a participant after one or more sessions of the course have been completed, no refund will be given.

In the unlikely event of cancellation of an individual session by me, attempts will be made to reschedule. If this is not possible, or if alternative dates cannot be agreed, a refund for sessions not yet taken will be given. If it is not possible for all couples within a group to agree an alternative date then provision will be made for individual couples. The refunded fee per session will be calculated as the total fee, after deduction of the £50 deposit, divided by the number of sessions in the course. No refund will be made for sessions already taken.

If for any reason in person courses cannot take place for example extreme weather or government guidelines, the event will either be rescheduled or the course will take place over live video link.

Rescheduling Sessions

For participants taking a private one to one course, 48 hours’ notice must be given to reschedule dates or times. Notice of cancellation or the reschedule of a 121 course or session  must be given no later than 48 hours prior to starting, unless due to serious medical illness. If notice period has been given a refund minus any deposit paid will be offered. If Less than 48 hours’ notice has been given by the participant then a refund minus any deposit paid will be at the discretion of the Therapeutic Midwife, unless due to serious medical condition.  

General

Participants take part in The Therapeutic Midwife course sessions with the understanding that the content of the course or information given by email/ phone/ message/ whatsapp message is in no way intended to be taken as medical advice. Participants should seek the advice of a health-care provider to answer any health-related or pregnancy-related issues surrounding their individual pregnancy, labour or birth. The Therapeutic Midwife cannot be held responsible for any decisions that you make regarding your pregnancy and birth. Gemma Connell, founder of The Therapeutic Midwife accepts no responsibility for any complications that could arise from pregnancy and birth or any perceived harm from any hypnobirthing techniques or information shared during any Therapeutic Midwife course to participants or third parties when used as a substitute to medical advice. 

When taking part in any activity, exercise or movement it is the responsibility of each individual to ensure that they are safe to do so in relation to their own personal circumstances by seeking medical advice first. 

Taking a Positive Birth course in no way guarantees a certain birth outcome.

The resources given to you during a Therapeutic Midwife Course are for your own personal use and are copyrighted to The Therapeutic Midwife. In no instances should any resource be distributed to third parties. Again, these do not represent medical advice. 

By taking part in any Therapeutic Midwife course you agree that photographs or videos maybe taken and can be used for promotional purposes. If you do not wish for your image/ or that of your baby’s to be taken you must inform Gemma Connell the Founder of The Therapeutic Midwife prior to course commencement. 

By Booking a course it is understood that you agree to the terms and conditions disclosed within.
